Believing that we are called to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world, we seek to serve those in need. Through outreach and mission, we seek to assist those in need beyond our local congregation. These needs may be local, national, or international. Each year we evaluate and adjust our priorities, committing our time, talent, and resources to projects and needs in our community, near and far.
There are several ministries in which we participate on a regular basis:
- PC(USA) Special Offerings – One Great Hour of Sharing at Easter, Pentecost Offering in June, Peacemaking Offering in October, and the Christmas Joy Offering in December. Collected throughout the year, each special offering is desginated for specific needs at local, national, and international levels.
- Living Waters For The World – We support and promote this ministry which brings clean, inexpensive water to developing countries. Find more information about their work here. We collect an additional special offering in July to support this ministry.
- Blood Drive – Working with the American Red Cross, we host a Blood Drive several times each year in the church’s Fellowship Hall with members of the church serving as greeters.
- Need Line – Our congregation supports this community’s food pantry in a variety of ways. Many folks volunteer their time and we take up monthly food donations and at Thanksgiving and Christmas we contribute to holiday food baskets. Find more information here.
- Soup for the Soul – Volunteers from our church serve on both the cooking and serving shifts for this local feeding program. Our shifts land on the first Tuesday of every other month. Find more information about this ministry here.
- Alternative Christmas Gift Market – Supported by both the congregation and the community at large, this project encourages giving Christmas gifts that benefit various local, regional, national and international organizations.
- Blessing Box – Like those around Murray-Calloway County, our blessing box is stocked with food, hygiene, and miscellaneous items. The box is restocked regularly and accessible 24/7 to anyone who needs it. All are encouraged to take what they need and leave what they can.
- Little Free Library – New in the summer of 2025, our Little Free Library is the book version of the blessing box. Books are available for readers of all ages to borrow, return, or keep.
